Forsyth Criminal History Checks

Village or Sheriff Records?
The creator-custodian split is the core Forsyth search rule. Village Hall may keep the policing contract, invoices, policy correspondence, or village vacation forms. The sheriff retains deputy-created reports and the jail booking. The Circuit Clerk retains the filed case. Choosing by subject alone can send the request to the wrong counter.

If Village Hall says it does not hold an arrest report, redirect the request rather than treating that response as proof no report exists. Name the deputy agency and incident date when contacting the sheriff.
Forsyth requesters can split a mixed request at the outset. Ask Village Hall for the contract or village correspondence, and ask MCSO for the deputy narrative. This avoids making either office search another body's files. The first 50 standard black-and-white pages are free, and later pages cost $0.15 each. A requester may explain why a fee waiver serves the public interest. The village normally responds within five working days, subject to lawful extensions. Its page has inconsistent staff references, so a time-sensitive request should confirm the current delivery contact by phone.
Forsyth's form is optional. A plain written request can work if it names the existing records with enough detail. State whether electronic copies, paper copies, or inspection are preferred. A fee-waiver request should explain the public benefit rather than merely state that the requester does not want to pay. The absence of a village portal is useful. It directs the search to the actual court rather than a nonexistent Forsyth criminal docket. Verify identity with case details beyond a shared name.
Forsyth Crime Data Uses County ORI
Forsyth crime data should be queried under the Macon County Sheriff's ORI, IL0580000. An ORI is the identifier assigned to a reporting law-enforcement agency. Because contract deputies report through the sheriff, inventing a Forsyth Police ORI would misstate the source.
Counts need a year, measure, and agency. Calls for service, incidents, arrests, offenses, and convictions measure different stages. County figures may also cover places outside Forsyth. Use a specific court file for an individual outcome rather than applying an agency-wide statistic to a person.
